I made this from a piece of old Tulip Poplar from the Murfreesboro area. I dyed it orange with a stabilizing resin that also hardens that soft wood.

With the black-line spalting and the variations of the orange dye throughout the pen, it's something that is truly unique. To compliment the wood, I paired it with hardware with a gunmetal finish.

This pen uses a standard Parker refill and is available in any office supply store. Simply twisting the cap about a quarter turn will extend or retract the refill's tip.
