I made this pen from a piece of the teak decking from the battleship, USS North Carolina (BB-55). This wood was removed as part of normal maintenance. I've paired this beautiful teak wood with antique pewter "Salute the Troops" bolt action hardware. It extends and retracts the Parker refill with mechanism similar to a bolt action rifle.

This is truly a piece of U.S. military history that you can own and use on a daily basis. It includes a Certificate of Authenticity that briefly describes this grand ship and her service to the United States Navy.

This pen uses a standard Parker refill which writes incredibly smoothly and is available at any office supply store.
